Machining guidelines - Turning

Turn it to your advantage: for machining thermoplastics on a lathe, certain technical preconditions have to be met.

A lathe is a machine tool with which rotating workpieces are given a rotationally symmetrical shape by cutting. In contrast to milling technology, it is the workpiece that rotates here.

Note:

  • Metalloid cutting tools should sometimes be preheated up to 120 °C
  • Use only pure water with liquid cooling (tension cracks may accur)
  • Amorphous materials should be annealed (do not use oily cooling agents)
